چکیده

We consider a quantum system constituted by N identical particles interacting by means of a mean-field Hamiltonian. It is well known that, in the limit N → ∞, the one-particle state obeys to the Hartree equation. Moreover, propagation of chaos holds. In this paper, we take care of the ~ dependence by considering the semiclassical expansion of the N -particle system. We prove that each term of the expansion agrees, in the limit N → ∞, with the corresponding one associated with the Hartree equation. We work in the classical phase space by using the Wigner formalism, which seems to be the most appropriate for the present problem.

Quantum Transport Equations for a Scalar Field

We derive quantum Boltzmann equations from Schwinger-Dyson equations in gradient expansion for a weakly coupled scalar field theory with a spatially varying mass. We find that at higher order in gradients a full description of the system requires specifying not only an on shell distribution function but also a finite number of its derivatives, or equivalently its higher moments. These derivativ...

A strongly perturbed quantum system is a semiclassical system

Recently we proposed a strongly coupled quantum field theory [1]. This approach is based on the duality principle in perturbation theory as exposed in [2] and applied in quantum mechanics. In this latter paper we showed that the dual perturbation series to the Dyson series, that applies to weak perturbations, is obtained through the adiabatic expansion when reinterpreted as done in [3]. This ex...

Beyond mean-field dynamics of small Bose-Hubbard systems based on the number-conserving phase-space approach

The number-conserving quantum phase space description of the Bose-Hubbard model is discussed for the illustrative case of two and three modes, as well as the generalization of the two-mode case to an open quantum system. The phase-space description based on generalized SU M coherent states yields a Liouvillian flow in the macroscopic limit, which can be efficiently simulated using Monte Carlo m...

Diffusive-ballistic crossover in 1D quantum walks.

We show that particle transport, as characterized by the equilibrium mean square displacement, in a uniform, quantum multibaker map, is generically ballistic in the long time limit, for any fixed value of Planck's constant. However, for fixed times, the semiclassical limit leads to diffusion. Random matrix theory provides explicit analytical predictions for the mean square displacement of a par...

Mean field limit for bosons and propagation of Wigner measures

We consider the N-body Schrödinger dynamics of bosons in the mean field limit with a bounded pair-interaction potential. According to the previous work [AmNi], the mean field limit is translated into a semiclassical problem with a small parameter ε → 0, after introducing an εdependent bosonic quantization. The limit is expressed as a push-forward by a nonlinear flow (e.g. Hartree) of the associ...
